Internal Hissing Sound During Steaming
Internal Hissing Sound During Steaming
Have another small issue I wanted to see if anyone has seen or experienced. The issue is, when I am steaming milk, there is a hissing sound (similar to the sound when you first turn the boiler on before the vaccum seals). This only happens when I steam milk. When I clear condensation over the drip tray or just open the valve with the wand in the air, no issue. It sounds like it is coming from just behind the vavle. I took the warming tray off and tried to steam water and look at the same time (a little risky) and I could have sworn I saw some steam/water coming from around the point where the plastic tubing enters the valve assembly. Everything seems tight in that area, both nuts leading into the valve seem secure. I am using the smaller .9 mm 4 hole tip. Anyone else run into this? Any suggestions? It doesn't seem to interfere with steaming at all, but I feel like there must be something amiss back there for this to happen.
Re: Internal Hissing Sound During Steaming
I have never experienced this. If the compression fitting where the plastic tube connects to the valve was leaking I would expect it to leak all the time; in fact if anything, I would expect it to leak less when you open the steam valve and reduce the pressure by allowing steam to escape.
I would call Chris and ask the tech staff about it...
Good luck,
Mark
