Leaky flow meter

Post by MonkeyK »

Anyone have experience with a leaky flow meter?

I was having trouble with shots ending when the machine got to pressure, so I took everything easy to remove apart and cleaned it all up. Definitely some scale at the flow meter and ends of the tubing.

Problem is when I got it all back together, and tested it, I found water beading up on the top of the flow meter. Removing the sensor again, I could see that waterfills up in the area where the sensor goes, so there must be some kind of leak. Since it fills the raised area, I am guessing the issue is not the o-ring: there must be some kind of crack in the lid of the flowmeter.

I looked up replacement flowmeter parts. Lots of the flowmeters offered appear to be steel and mine is brass with copper tubing coming off of it. If I straight up replaced the flowmeter, I think it would corrode where the copper tubing connected to the new flow meter. Plus it seems to be a pretty pricy part, and I couldn't get the nipples off of mine and they are not sold with those.

Has anyone sourced a lid for the flowmeter? Is there something else I should be considering?
