S1V2 leak assistance
S1V2 leak assistance
Hi
My Vavaldi S1V2 feeling sick today, the leftover drawer filled to the top, and then I notices that something's wrong.
See attached video:
1. Brew head drops sometimes
2. Over-pressure (right ?) keep releasing water.
What can I check ?
tried back-flashing, still the same.

Re: S1V2 leak assistance
There is no OPV on that side. There is an expansion valve (right) and a 3-way valve release tube (left) that are next to each other. What you need to do depends on which one is leaking.

BTW: The link to the video in your original email is improperly formed so I can't watch it. Otherwise, that might answer the questions I asked previously.

Maybe now ?
its the 3way, and sometimes the group.
I tend to believe the solenoid got some dirt of coffee in it that won't allow it to close properly
Following this thread https://www.s1cafe.com/viewtopic.php?t=1221 , I tried 3 rounds of backflush with coffee clean and 3 without. still he same.
Do you think its the solenoid as well ?

Re: S1V2 leak assistance
It's probably the 3-way valve itself and not the solenoid. You should remove the 3-way valve and check under it for obstructions. It is also possible that there is small mineral deposit inside the valve. You can try taking the valve apart to check. That said I have had this issue with 3 or 4 3-way valves over the years and was only able to get one apart. When I did, I couldn't find anything wrong, but when reassembled it worked fine. There is just a spring and a small plastic plunger inside and I have never found a place to buy those piece parts.
Worse case you may need to buy a new valve. If you look around you can find them for much less money w/o the solenoid included. Naturally it is easier to find the valve with the solenoid included, but that will bump the price up quite a bit.

Re: S1V2 leak assistance
Do you have any idea where can i get the valve only ? I guess it has to be specific model to fit in the solenoid

Re: S1V2 leak assistance
Since you are in Israel, does that mean you have a 230V machine?
If so, this part from espressoparts.com is probably what you need. I have not been able to find an option for the S1 that doesn't include both the valve and the solenoid.

Re: S1V2 leak assistance
So, Finally kids back to kindergarten, and I had some time to work on this.
Disassembled the solenoid, and I see the surface is full of black crap.
1. I've cleaned with dish scrub, and some with knife, but its not fully removed. What can I use to clean this ? maybe some lemon or vinegar ?
2. Where did it come from ? its 5 year old machine that is kind of 24/7 connected to 8L softner and GAC filter after

Re: S1V2 leak assistance
It looks like coffee residue. How often do you do a detergent back flush?

Re: S1V2 leak assistance
Apparently not enough :(
I do water only back flush once 2-3 weeks and detergent once in 2 month or so.
even that I've cleaned it, still leaking after I've re-assembled it.
Can it be that the ring is dried on the solenoid valve ?
Re: S1V2 leak assistance
I've cleaned again, and its flat clean (still some black spots but feel flat)
and the moment I allow water to the system, the 3rd way leaks
how does it works, it gets inline water and once open divert the water to the group. but when it should divert the water the 3rd way ?

Re: S1V2 leak assistance
So today I've found my solenoid, and also found ODE solenoid made from technopolymer that should be more robust
