Steam Boiler Terminal Covers

Post by pev »

I guess it must also be common for others for the spade terminal boots to be trashed by heat on these. I did have a dig through the forums but couldn't see anyone with similar parts i.e. clip on covers that don't require the crimps removing.

It looks like the JST CS-63N005 should do the job but before I order a pack has anyone found any better alternatives that are rated for sustained high temps? Im half tempted just to heat shrink them instead of replacing...

I didn't replace the black plastic covers once they got all melty. However, I did find some crimp connectors via Google that have shrink tubing integrated in. These work great to keep moisture out of the wires and also cover the AC voltage on the connector. Admittedly I had to search around for a while to find a small quantity at a reasonable price. Most all suppliers seem to prefer selling them in the 100-500 range!
