Re: Mini Vivaldi II - Steam boiler not heating

So I managed to resolve this issue. It turns out the wire to the fill probe might have had corrosion on it. I stripped more of the shielding from the cable to ensure better contact with the screw and now the machine is no longer over filling.

Re: Mini Vivaldi S1 - Overfill Issue

Did you find a fix for this problem? I’m having it also. In the past changing the orings on the water intake helped but it’s now come back.

Re: Mini Vivaldi II - Steam boiler not heating

This issue is very intermittent. It went away for a while but is now back again. I can’t really fathom what it might be since the boiler fills with water and it will come out of the steam wand, but when it tries to refill then it will overfill and trigger the safety valve, leading to a puddle of wat...

Re: Mini Vivaldi II - Steam boiler not heating

So it looks like my steam boiler over filling issue is not quite fixed. Today after removing the water reservoir and refilling it the pump triggered for the steam boiler but kept going longer than it should. I switched it off via the boiler button but it began to leak at the water inlet from the tan...

Re: Mini Vivaldi II - Steam boiler not heating

Thanks again Chas! I left the machine unplugged overnight and to my surprise it just started working again. Pump never engaged for the boiler as it was already full and so far hasn’t refilled after a test cap. Will keep an eye on it and see if it happens again. My worry that the boiler element was g...

Mini Vivaldi II - Steam boiler not heating

Hello all, I’m hoping someone might be able to give me a clue as to what might be happening. I have a 10 year old Vivaldi that’s yesterday stopped heating the steam boiler. Group works fine and has no issue but for the steam boiler the boiler light will continue to blink but that’s it. It had been w...

Re: Leak on top of steam boiler over pressure

Checked the fill probe and everything seemed fine, no mineral deposits. Took off the vacuum breaker and noticed the PTFE tape wasn’t correct so applied a new layer. Also decided to siphon most of the water from the tank with the vacuum breaker off. Seems to have fixed the problem! I’m wondering how ...

Re: Leak on top of steam boiler over pressure

Tried to push it from the other end and with enough force it engages the spring.

If the steam boiler is over filling would it be the fill level probe?

Re: Leak on top of steam boiler over pressure

Thanks Chas. Would the issue be the same if the boiler is still filling with water? I opened up the nut at the top (vacuum breaker) where the water was pooling and the boiler was full with water. I figured it must be an outlet rather than an inlet so started to remove the over pressure valve(?) http...

Leak on top of steam boiler over pressure

Hello again, My Vivaldi has developed a new problem. It seems everything does start failing after 7 years of constant use. Today I noticed the machine have problems trying to intake water. The pump was on for a very long time before the machine gave an error. Afterwards I power cycled it and tried a...

Re: Low pressure at group head

Hello again, Happy to report that the replacement parts did the job. I replaced everything in the water tank and also the the part it connects to. First attempt with a blind basket saw the pressure slowly rise and then stabilise to the 9.5 to 10bar mark. Since some of the parts were 8 years old I al...

Re: Low pressure at group head

Quick update on this. The volumetric dosing switch was in the On position. I changed it to Off and tried and the machine started to pump water again. However, the new pump has the same issues as the old one with only 1 - 2 bars of pressure happening at the group. Since I still have a leak at the wat...

Re: Low pressure at group head

So an update on this. Decided to change the pump since it is quite old so bought a like for like. Installed it just now and turned on the machine. Pumps ran and the sound of filling happened. However when I pushed the 1 or 2 cup buttons I get the group water dosing system failure error. No water is ...

Low pressure at group head

Hello, I hope someone might be able to help. I appear to be facing issue after issue with my 7 year old mini Vivaldi. During this pandemic I have had to replace the SSR and Steam boiler fill probe and now it appears that my pump might be on its last legs. It has been working fine for some time, but ...

Re: Mini Steam boiler active when switch off and brew boiler doesn't work

I sure will! I thought I’d also share this from the SSR manufacturer in case anyone finds themselves in a similar position and needs to order one. It’s worth knowing. SOB542440-F is a specific reference we sell to WMF. But the SOB542460 has also 2 independant controls, so it should work and switch o...

Re: Mini Steam boiler active when switch off and brew boiler doesn't work

Chas thank you so much. You’ve made my Christmas cappuccino filled again!

The brown wires were indeed reversed. Brew boiler is now switching on and when at temp the steam boiler switches on as expected and then stops when it gets to temp.

Thank you!

Re: Mini Steam boiler active when switch off and brew boiler doesn't work

Thank you for the very detailed reply!
I thought I had wired everything exactly as it was from the old ssr.

Mini Steam boiler active when switch off and brew boiler doesn't work

Hello, Hoping that someone here might be able to help. I recently had an issue with my mini where the steam boilers was on even when the machine was in stand by. Through troubleshooting with members on home-barista I was able to identify the SSR as being the cause of the issue. I have since replaced...
