Post by michael »

what are the advantages and disadvantages of conical grinding burrs as compared to the flat ones? how do the newer larger mazzer doserless grinders (major, kony etc.)produce such fluffy grinds without clumps as compared to the mini mazzer e; why do these newer grinders cost SO MUCH 8)

Lots of discussion on Home Barista to pour through concerning the pros & cons of flat vs conical burrs. As to the cost of the bigger grinders buying used is the best way around that. I just bought a lightly used Mazzer Super Jolly at a considerable savings off new pricing. My chrome stepless Macap M4 w/doser will be available shortly if anyone is looking for one.

The SJ I bought comes with a doser but there are threads on how to remove/replace it. I like the doser on my M4 so we'll have to wait & see how I like the one on the SJ.
