Post pics of your extractions here.
We'd love to see the Spaz in action stills.
I'll start by posting a couple from this morning.

Any suggestions on lighting to get shots (pictures that is) like that? Is that the stock flash or something else? Tried to get pics with my XTi but missed...have nice pictures of the group though....

This was the stock flash on a Nikon D200. It's a very small built in flash that does the job OK for little things like this.

Not a shot I would label as "terrible", but definitely not an awesome shot either. I knew it from the start, but it did make a pretty nice Machiatto.

Shot with my Panasonic Point and Shoot. I like it, for a P&S, its flexible. You can run on full auto down to full manual, with A and S priority. in auto mode, there is about 30 different "Intelligent Auto" modes. Its a fun little camera. I used to have some good 35mm gear(not pro level, but decent), but I had stopped using it, and eventually sold it off. I'd like to get a DSlR, But there is no way Im spending 5K on a camera until IVe got two Titan Grinders and a "Super Elite" machine. TO ME, thats a better way to spend the money :)

Nice shots 8)
I really like the 3rd pic, the shot is beading really well.

At least you have your priorities, if I can only get rid of all my photo equipment....maybe I can get a Mistral and a couple of GS3's (one for each room  ).

Yeah!
I'm addicted to this particular Yemen for some reason. It really is an UGLY looking bean but man is it heaven in the cup!
Do you have this one, John? There's two versions with the same name - just the process is different, one is washed (me thinks) and other is dry.

Checked my greens log & I've got 8lbs of the Mokha Haimi, 4lbs of the Mokha Ismaili & a couple lbs of last years Sana'ani. How dark are you roasting the Haimi?

Take the Haimi 10 seconds into a rolling 2nd crack. It comes out looking like a Full City+ (not Vienna), no oily marks or droplets at all. It pulls nice, long drippy shots that go well into the 40+ seconds without blonding.

Edit:
Forgot to mention - I stall the roast after 1st crack completely finishes and then ramp the heat element back up with about 1:45 left on the roasting time. The roast finishes @ around 419F (that varies slightly from ambient room temps).

So how much time overall between 1st C taking off & eject. 3-4 minutes?

I'd say closer to 5 minutes.
1st C takes about 1.5 - 2 minutes to complete its thing and then once the cracks stop (or really slow down to almost nothing), the smell of the roast changes (at least in my shnozola  ). This is when I cut the heating element OFF and let the roast coast for little over a minute and then crank it up for a slow finish into 2nd C. You'll hit 2nd C at around 1:15 (remaning in the total roast time) and then it'll start rolling into an agressive active 2nd crack with about 30-40 seconds left on the total roasting time. This varies of course depending on your ambient humidity and temps in the area you're working in. Last week I roasted in 57F/65% humidity with those results in the garage.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention: 250g's of Yemen Mokha Haimi.

Yeah man, Photo equipment gets expensive, REAL fast. When I look at which DSLR I'd actually want.. we're taling $3K-$4K or more.. And then there's the lenses too. Gets crazy.

So, Ill stick with my little point and shoot while I save up for my next grinder.
