americanos and water through the hot water tap

Post by TiggerMark »

new to the mini vivaldi II and loving it! however, I have a question about Americanos. seems like I read in the manual not to pull too much water from the hot water tap because you can expose the heating element. I make two Americanos a morning - the wife and me - about 8 ounces of water for each. currently using an old Keurig to heat water (hey it works!). anybody got thoughts on this? I'd really like to use the hot water tap for this but do not want to hurt the machine. thanks!

Chris Coffee recommends 6oz and then let the pump catch up to refill the boiler before pulling more hot water.

so I can pull six ounces and then wait till I hear the pump switch off? I'm sure as I brew the second Americano that everybody gets caught up.... that sounds very do-able.
