Need Steam boiler

Post by rhinoevans »

any chance a steam boiler out there for an S1. The threaded part for the drain snapped off. Not sure if fixable unless buying a new steam boiler. First the hot water elbow into the steam boiler snapped off, and now the drain. what makes these connections so fragile.

I don't have a boiler to sell, but I did have the threaded nipple break off of my own steam boiler. I talked to Chris Coffee and they suggested tapping the inside of the drain tube and then using a stainless cap screw to plug it with an o-ring. This worked prefectly and I have been functional for years after the break. I used an 8 mm-1.25 tap that I bought from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FQ ... UTF8&psc=1

Thanks, that worked in the hot water fitting that snapped off. More difficult when the bottom drain snapped off. Unable to TAP the curved surface of the bottom of the boiler. Drill a 1 inch hole and added a 1 in threaded brass fitting. Having it welded now. Hope it works. I will have in back sometime this week.

Good luck. My drain snapped off with a stub left so that I could tap the inside of the remaining "tube" attached to the bottom of the boiler.

Had the brass 1 inch threaded pipe welded on for the drain. Didn’t work. Leaked. Welder looking at it to see if fixable

I haven't checked the site in a long while and noticed this. I'm parting out a La Spaz Dream with the large boiler. If you still need a boiler let me know. My email is Movnmik@gmail.com
Thanks
