Yes, all the way. You want the sensor all the way to the end of the tube to maximize metal-to-metal contact. Also, you can see in one of those Clive pix that there is a small plug of silcone rubber to keep the sensor in place.

I think that espressoparts 220V LaSpaziale steam boiler element I mentioned yesterday is the wrong part. That must be for one of the larger models. I think it was 3750W or thereabouts. Sorry, you only see 9bar if you use a portafilter pressure gauge with water flowing through it. Since the built-in gauge picks off right by the pump output you actually see the pump output pressure on the built-in guage and NOT the pressure seen by the coffee grounds. To build your own, you need an ...

Here's a related thing to keep in mind for the future. The rotary pump just adds pressure to the incoming line pressure. I think it's just a matter of adjusting the pump pressure up. The pressure is measured close to the output of the pump. The restriction of the plumbing between the pump and the group drops the pressure. I have found that in order to get a true 9 bar at the group you need to see 10-10.5bar when using...

Re: setting two-cup timer for 28 seconds

Sounds like you need to read this manual: V2 Mini Owners Manual FYI, there is no way to disable the volumetric dosing. If you want to manually control dosing, program a button for more water than you'll ever need, then press the button while running to turn off the flow. Calling it a timer is incorr...

I can't honestly argue with you about that. When this forum started it was chock full of new users figuring out ways to get the best out of the machine and figuring out the incorrect and/or woefully underdocumented features. Also, there were a lot of Day One issues that now seem to have been address...

Re: Troubleshooting Tips Mini Blowing Fuses

From what I have heard from others on this Forum over the years, a tripping GFCI is normally due to moisture that gets inside the heater element''s metal jacket. When the element turns on, the water turns to steam and causes an unbalanced current between neutral and ground which trips the GFCI. This...

Re: Dream T - can't fill boiler after storage

The Dream-T manual I have explicitly says to start by pressing the Menu/OK button for 5 seconds. This is supposed to pop up a screen telling you to then press the one or two-cup buttons to actually start the pump. Sounds like maybe they changed this in the new software version. So the newest manual ...

Didn't CCS offer a two-year warranty on this machine when you bought it? If so, their tech support should handle this and provide you with whatever free support you need to return your machine to operation.

Do you know what version of software the machine is running? That usually shows on the front panel right after you apply power. I know they don't use the Threshold A /B feature anymore. I can't remember now if that's because the new firmware no longer needs it or if it means you have an early produc...

It is most likely that fuse or it could actually be the fuse holder itself. A number of folks on this forum have mentioned that their fuse holders failed. Apparently, LaSpaziale uses cheap 15A fuse holders. Fine a good quality 20A fuse holder and put in a new fuse while you're at it. Also, many of t...

Re: Brand new, 3 way valve issue? Help!

That looks and sounds like pretty normal operation for a Mini. It is normal on a Mini for the pressure gauge needle to vibrate like that. They use a pretty simple method to adjust the pressure and there is no damping used. You may want to adjust the pressure higher, however. See the manual linked be...

1) By definition, there is no pre-infusion in the Mini other than with the optional chamber. Pre-infusion uses line pressure to start wetting the puck before the pump kicks in. However, there is no line pressure in the tank version 2) if your board supports V1 or V2 modes when you first plug in the ...

Re: Vivaldi II - Steam wand barely working

In that case, it sounds like you must have a partial blockage between the boiler and the steam wand. With a cold machine, you may want to disconnect the proper water line at the boiler and open the steam control valve and blow through the line to see if that's where the blockage is. Also, with that ...

Two things: 1) I have never seen the serial protocol used between the front panel and the controller board documented. 2) To remotely turn the machine on and off, that protocol is not what is used anyway. Did you just replace the solenoid or did you replace the solenoid AND valve? Just replacing the solenoid won't fix it. In all likelihood the problem was never the solenoid, just the valve.

Re: Vivaldi II - Steam wand barely working

Your gauge is a little off but not enough to justify its replacement. Your current 0 point is 0.2bar so a gauge reading of 1.5bar is really 1.3bar which is perfect for an S1 steam boiler. The next thing you should check is that your water level probe has not gotten pushed up by the pressure. If so, ...

Before getting deep into it, check these things out:

1) With the boiler completely cold, confirm that the boiler pressure gauge is exactly at 0 bar.
2) Let the steam boiler get completely up to temperature, check the boiler pressure gauge.

I have little doubt that LaSpaziale has schematics for this device but they have never shared them with the masses.

However, many people have had issues with the water level sensor over the years. You should be able to find some of these threads using the Forum's search feature.

Re: Limited water from outlet, plenty of steam

Based on the amount of steam coming out instead of hot water, it seems possible that the water level in your steam boiler is too low. Try loosening the nut that keeps the water level probe in place, pull the probe up about 1/4" to 1/3", then retighten the nut.

I don't have a definitive answer to your question. However, the water inlet tube to the steam boiler is never more than ~1.3bar and it's cold water so that should expand your options.

I don't think that's a swivel joint. If it moves then the screw on fitting is loose. Teflon tape is fine to use on pretty much all water tight connections on the Dream.

Since you are in Israel, does that mean you have a 230V machine?

If so, this part from espressoparts.com is probably what you need. I have not been able to find an option for the S1 that doesn't include both the valve and the solenoid.

It's probably the 3-way valve itself and not the solenoid. You should remove the 3-way valve and check under it for obstructions. It is also possible that there is small mineral deposit inside the valve. You can try taking the valve apart to check. That said I have had this issue with 3 or 4 3-way v...

There is no OPV on that side. There is an expansion valve (right) and a 3-way valve release tube (left) that are next to each other. What you need to do depends on which one is leaking.

The biggest cause of this failure is some water getting inside the steam boiler heater element causing a partial short. Try disconnecting the power leads at the top of the steam boiler. If it still happens try pulling the heater element wires at the back of the coffee boiler. If either of those make...

After the pump starts to refill the boiler a 60 second timer starts. If the machine does not get a boiler full signal from the water level probe before that times out, the machine will shut off. So you definitely have a low boiler water level due to an obstruction in the water line, as you suspect. ...
