The thing we don't know from these sporadic anomalies is whether the timer is messing up or if the timer is doing exactly what it is supposed to and the control board in the V2 is not responding correctly to the signal from the timer.

If you ever get a chance, take yours apart. There isn't much too it and nothing that you can hurt by taking it apart and putting it back together. It's not much more than a small chamber with a spring loaded diaphragm. The adjustment screw adjusts how far up or down the diaphragm is in the chamber.

3 bar is about 45psi. The rotary pump adds to the line pressure. If you add a pressure regulator and drop the line pressure to 30psi, your group pressure will be back down to 8 bar and you'l need to adjust it up again.

Scace 2

I just noticed this on the EspressoParts.com website:

In searching on the Internet it looks like this is going to be formally introduced at SCAA the first week in May.

My V2 fan is slightly louder than my former S1 fan. I can hear either one from the next room. I think it's the frequency that's more aggravating that the volume. I did the sticky foam pad under the fan trick on the V2. At first it seemed to be slightly quieter than the S1 but it has since gotten lou...

Yes, that's true. The voltage drop across the triac will not be much different when operating at 220V vs. 115V but the current will only be 1/2 as much so the power dissipation in the triace will be nearly half as well.

Here's the 5 micron one I buy:

It's only $6.75.

These guys also carry the softener cartridges but they only come in 6 packs for $124.

I thought long an hard about paying the extra price when I purchased my Mini-E. However, they've jacked the price considerably since I purchased mine. I wouldn't buy one if I were in the market today. I'd probably try the Macap doserless.

I had to remove the chute and cut it out from the back with an XACTO. It was as big a pain to reinstall as it was to remove.

What I did was set the single dose button to just do a short blast to get all the stale grounds out since you can't really get past that guard to dig them out.

One of the first things I did was take that finger guard off after my Mini-E arrived. It was immediately clump city. Then it dawned on me what the "guard" was actually for.

That's why everybody takes that screw out and throws it away! That screw was probably designed by the legal department!

I got one too. Should we have a contest? In my case it might take two weeks to fill it up. Probably start turning into a science project before that.

I have my VII in the middle of counter space with the grinder on the left side. So velcroed my timer to the top right side panel. I just pop it off and hold it in my hand when I want to use it. Otherwise it is viewable but out of the way.

So it's not interference with the VII plug, it's the actual unit itself? Did you install one of those 20A outlets with a single outlet in the middle. If so you could always install one of the outlets that has two 20A outlets and plug it into the top outlet. Would that give enough additional clearanc...

Jackie: I can't remember if you ordered yours with the timer or not. I don't see the timer in your photo, but it does look like that POS timer manual lying on the counter in front of your VII. If you did get the timer, I highly recommend the rewritten timer manual you can download from this page: ht...

Ah, it looks like they might have added a short extension cord that plugs into the circuit board. This would make it easy for upgraders. It would be a real pain to add it to mine if I hadn't purchased it that way. The timer connector on the circuit board is absolutely buried under other cables and b...

Niko, looks like you have the same surge suppressor that I do and it works great. It just doesn't look like much and sticks out a mile. I found this alternative one at the link below. This one has a little style and the outlet is on the side which keeps it a little more low profile. http://tinyurl.c...

Pretty strange that they both went. Since they're directly connected, one probably failed and took the other with it.

I would have just used the brine method, too, before I read the method that used to be posted on the Chris Coffee FAQ page. I am not sure why they took the detailed explanation off their web site. I just finished another round of testing with Carrie's Scace and Fluke and I am baffled. You're braver than I. I always unscrew the handles first, but it's nice to know they can stand up to Cafiza. For those interested in ordering, Les actually has you provide him some measurements of your PF since there is so much variance. That way he can ensure that the wooden handle aligns perfectly...
